One little luxury I have always afforded myself,was a place to sit in the morning and put my makeup on.I have never been big for standing and leaning over a sink /vanity to do this,rather it is the place I take my coffee and sit and enjoy the process that has to happen everyday no matter come what may. Vanity’s can be a place you make yourself either in the bathroom or a space in your bedroom,they are no less important when it comes to decorating them then any other design element in the home,and for me a place where we women can really show our girly side.
What about you? Is there a space in your home that you have dedicated to this necessary ritual,and if so do you love your space? I personally for one could not live without one,and it is always a pleasure thinking of the many ways I will be decorating my next one!
This is my makeup area,it’s the first thing you see as you come up the stairs so I wanted it to pack a lot of punch. I took an ordinary Ikea piece and painted it white and put a beautiful knob on it to give it a custom look,the sheepskin adds a touch of warmth and luxury. I love spending time in this space everyday.

I’ve never had a space dedicated for that luxury, I was always a “stand up by the sink and do my thing” kinda girl, but after seeing all those beautiful spaces, I definitely may have to rethink that.
I’ve used a vanity since I was 16. It’s next to impossible for me to put on my make-up standing up. Whenever we travel I have to pack a lighted make-up mirror, otherwise there’s no telling how I’m going to look.
