OVERLAYS

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about this blog today. Last week on one of my regular blog reads Design-Eye Online Danielle featured a company called O’verlays by 2 girls Danika and Cheryle. So why is this so exciting…….. well this company does incredible overlays that transform your average piece of furniture into a unique masterpiece, the best part though is that a lot of the overlays are designed to fit over top of some of the more popular Ikea pieces such as,Malm,Pax,Expedit,Efectiv and Lack turning them into one of a kind custom designed works of art. Now to know me is to know how much I love Ikea and well the very thought of transforming there furniture into something so unique that know one has a damn clue what it is….well let’s just say I can’t sleep thinking of all the things I want to do! So here a few of the examples from the girls website and when you have time you have to check it out.

So this is a fairly standard ordinary Ikea piece……..

Can’t even tell it’s the same piece!

Your average Pax wardrobe that everyone and your neighbor has…..

Bet it doesn’t look like this though!

Boring old white Malm dresser……

Shut the front door!!!!

Malm dresser again using a different style of overlay…..

So what did you think? Pretty frickin fantastic if I say so myself! Please check their website out for so many other DIY’s and inspiration photos.

They’re so easy to apply and paint, and really dress up a piece of furniture. I’ve also seen them used on stair risers, although I can’t remember where… they’re really versatile :-)

Speak Your Mind ... I love to hear from you !
