Happy friday to you all.
I wanted to take some time to talk about a Canadian designer who’s work I have admired for years, and that is Michael Angus.
Years ago I can remember trying to decide where I fit into design,in terms of “my style”,I would see a lot of designers work and admire it but it never felt like “my style”. Then I saw Michael Angus featured in the pages of House and Home, his perfect little apartment that sat above his beautiful store Angus and Company,I instantly fell head over heels with this mans design!!! It was then that I realized that the one thing I kept coming back to and never grew tired of was the mix of antiques, wood, black and neutrals(and where I first fell in love with antlers!). And although I tend to incorporate a bit more modern into the mix Michael’s style remains one of my favorites down to this day.Michael’s design formula is nothing short of perfection, even though his use of color is limited he keeps it interesting with lots of texture and organic items. Forward a few years ahead and he is still the master at his signature style. If you haven’t had the chance to visit his store in Toronto then it is a huge must,it is a feast for the eyes, and a place where you can really get a sense of who he is as a designer. Michael your a true classic!!
